@PolitlcsUK If this is solely about surveillance, then it feels like overkill. The overwhelming majority of nurses are not malicious and can be trusted to do their jobs. Cameras just risks creating an atmosphere of mistrust.

@areyoflight My friend had his pain medication taken away from him, then he ended his life a week later. He reached out for help and they made his life even worse than before.

@unojen_wood They already are to an extent in some places. My GP wouldn't write me a fitnote until I was seen first by a disability employment advisor.

@Shrink_at_Large I'll have to end my claim. I'm on LCWRA, but there's no way I'll be able to engage with the Jobcentre so often due to agorophobia and severe social anxiety. Does anybody know when these changes will take effect? I doubt I'd be awarded PIP at reassessment anyway.

@darren140776601 @_themrEEE @Shrink_at_Large You might be one of those new claims if you ever lose your PIP, they won't care if you were awarded it at some point before 2026.

@SueJonesSays @flickhwilliams It's not a good thing. I am worried about people who cannot work but will still be expected to do work-related activity. Even those on PIP Daily Living won't automatically be exempt by the sound of it, so many will either go homeless or simply die because they cannot cope.

@SueJonesSays @flickhwilliams I hope that's true, but the way in which the government keeps saying that the current system leaves disabled people "trapped" on benefits makes me question that. If taken at face value, they could just mean less people on health benefits, but I'm suspicious.

@benn_elisbenn @flickhwilliams That doesn't mean that people on UC Health will automatically be exempt from work-prep in the future, though, does it? PIP doesn't assess work capability, after all. Being "supported" back into work might be mandatory for some UC health claimants in the future.

@NathanielD93744 @WheelieFUMS Removing future assessments for the most vulnerable doesn't make up for other devastating changes. It doesn't help those of us who cannot work due to disability/illness but don't meet the criteria for PIP.

@CounsellingSam @RichardBurgon @Keir_Starmer I guess those of us who are unable to work, but don't fall under PIP's criteria will just go die in the gutter then? I can't believe how cruel and irresponsible this government is.
