#EastEnders #Joscar A good scene between Josh and Oscar at No 20 where Josh confides in Oscar about how he wished he'd got to say the things he wanted to say to Zoe before she died before chemistry is reignited as Josh and Oscar give into their feelings for each other once more.

As much as I enjoyed Josh and Oscar when they first hooked up at the Albert and the potential was there between them - sadly I'm no longer as invested in them now as I was back then - mainly due to the affair fallout and how Josh failed to take an accountability or remorse for Jasmine and how the affair would impact her because he was jealous of the fact that she was the centre of attention despite being doted on by Sandra all his life. At least Oscar showed some genuine remorse for his actions and the fact that Josh admits here that he always wanted Oscar all along just proves that deep down he never really cared about Jasmine at all.

Also to me the whole relationship now feels really forced and there's no chemistry there between them - it's hard to get invested in them as a couple when the acting from Josh is so dire and Oscar's leaving now anyway so what was the point of the whole affair/love triangle stuff only for Oscar to leave - the only reason I'd want Josh and Oscar to be together now at this point is for Josh to leave with Oscar at the end of the year leaving Jasmine alone on the Square to rebuild herself after Zoe's death. Given the affair has been outed Josh and Oscar can get together now without a care in the world but sadly the investment just isn't there between them.

From a grief perspective - Josh's reaction was valid - He hardly knew Zoe and he's grieving the version of Zoe he wished he'd got to know not the one who didn't want to get to know him if that makes any sense. I wish they went down the route of Zoe and Josh at least investing in some sort of relationship - even if the acting is diabolical at least it would've given a chance to grow and develop Josh's character a little bit more but instead we were left with the plotty and lacklustre affair plot which had no substance, a raft of continuity errors and terrible writing and acting for Josh to match. The whole affair storyline completely destroyed Oscar's character in my humble opinion and Pierre deserved so much better expecially as Oscar arrived as one of the most charismatic exciting and refreshing characters in this current era with bags and bags of potential.

Oscar is a stand alone character in his own right who brings a good mix of comedy/emotion - we've explored his grief about Abi's death how it impacted Tanya and how he had to step up for her despite being pushed away - he's been in therapy and young offenders and we've seen how that affected him - we've seen him share lighter moments with Patrick and Ian or "Brian" as Oscar liked to call him and I really wished the writers sailed with that dynamic between Ian and Oscar - the meeting of young hearts and old souls and I felt that way towards Oscar and Patrick as well before they destroyed that friendship in favour of the attack last year.

Oscar's scenes with his family and the dynamics he'd built with Patrick and Ian "Brian" felt refreshing and somewhat natural - Oscar had the chance to be his more loveable and carefree self and I felt he was already an established character when he arrived because of his background and history with the Brannings. He arrived as a diamond in the rough not the finished article with some rough edges but the writers could've explored that so much more - instead we are left with whatever this is between Josh and Oscar and it's a real shame really because it's just not working sadly.

The potential with Josh was there but the acting and affair storyline destroyed it and now they're making Oscar unlikeable which is sad despite still having his good moments like with Kat last night.

But who will Oscar choose ahead of NYD 2027 and will he marry them following Patrick's line in the FF?
