@bennett4senate This picture is a red oak hardwood table I made using the technique I mentioned, so you can see what I am referring to. It is not quite the same as the naturally worn painted plywood in your images, but similar.
@bennett4senate Unlike Oaks open grain pine has closed grain so the stain wouldn't absorb deep into the grain. So when you go to sand it off it will sand more evenly and probably not create the same effect. I looked at some pine plywood I have laying around it didn't look like it would work.
@austinkleon There’s an app called 4K Stogram, I use it to download my saved posts from accounts I follow but it also downloads your own post history and makes it very easy to view posts by date.
