People on the Left often complain about the BBC being too right wing, while people on the Right accuse it of left wing bias. Now, to me that says it must be fairly balanced.

Has it fucked up a few times? Yes. What media outlet hasn't? Should it be destroyed because of this? I don't believe so.

And YES - I have a show on @BBCSounds so you can legitimately say I have a vested interest. But this isn't about me, and I genuinely think it would be a tragedy to lose the BBC.

A couple of days ago I was sent out as a roaming reporter to cover the tragic death of a 16 year old who was killed in a hit and run which also involved an 18 year old who was knocked off of his e-bike.

My reporting alongside @jackfifield was used exclusively in the Mail Online but also made a large part of the Sheffield Star's front page story the next day.

It is never easy reporting on such cases especially speaking to those directly affected but I do hope it helped answer any questions residents had. My condolences to the family.
