In the #NCGA, I’ve fought to make our communities safer, strengthen our schools, and keep NC the best place to live, work, & raise a family.
We’ve delivered results – and I’m running for another term to keep fighting for the people of Brunswick & New Hanover counties. #ncpol
This legislation strengthens North Carolina’s involuntary commitment process and improves public safety by working to improve coordination, expand treatment options, increase accountability, and help ensure people get the care they need before a crisis becomes a tragedy.
For too long, individuals with severe mental illness have fallen through the cracks of a system that often fails to provide consistent treatment while putting families and communities at risk. That’s why I’m proud to have sponsored and helped pass HB 1104 through the #NCGA House.
Congratulations to Trinity Simms on being crowned the 28th Miss N.C. 4th of July — and congratulations to all the participants and winners of this year’s N.C. 4th of July Festival Scholarship Pageant!
This outstanding event highlights the talent, character, and patriotism of young women and girls in our communities — celebrating the traditions that make Brunswick County such a special place.
The American flag tells the story of our nation — resilience, sacrifice, and the enduring pursuit of liberty.
On Flag Day, we honor the values that unite us and express our gratitude to all who have fought to preserve the freedoms we enjoy today.
We honor the courage and sacrifice of the American heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy in defense of freedom.
Their bravery changed the course of history and secured the liberties we enjoy today. May we never forget the extraordinary price paid by the Greatest Generation.
This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives defending our nation. Their sacrifice is a lasting reminder that liberty is never free. As we gather with family and friends, may we never forget those who made that freedom possible. 🇺🇸
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Kyle Busch. He was one of the most recognizable competitors in @NASCAR — inspiring generations of racing fans. Please join me in praying for his loved ones and the entire racing community during this difficult time.
Families deserve access to options that help every child succeed. This bill supports parental involvement and gives families more flexibility when choosing the best educational path for their children.
This week, we took a vote in the #NCGA House to override the Governor’s veto of HB 87. This legislation delivers more educational opportunities for families across North Carolina.
I’m encouraged by the budget agreement reached at the #NCGA that prioritizes education, public safety, and the state’s taxpayers. This framework includes strong raises for teachers and law enforcement officers, bonuses for many state employees and retirees, and… 1/2.
Today we celebrate the incredible mothers and mother figures who help shape the next generation. Thank you for your love, wisdom, and devotion. Happy Mother’s Day!
Today, on National Day of Prayer, we pause to thank God for His blessings on our nation, our state, and our communities. May we continue to seek wisdom, strength, and guidance as we work to protect the values that make North Carolina strong.
We must protect the communities that depend on this river every day. I’ll continue working with leaders like Senator Michael Lee and Senator Bill Rabon to ensure our communities’ voices are heard. 3/3.

I stand with our coastal communities in strong opposition to the proposed interbasin transfer by Fuquay-Varina. The Cape Fear River is a vital resource for drinking water, jobs, and our local economy here in southeastern North Carolina. 1/3.
Removing millions of gallons of water without returning it to the same basin raises serious concerns about water quality, environmental health, and increased costs for families and businesses downriver — especially during times of drought. 2/3.
