@GaryHPhillips Have the #Yankees overcome a lengthy absence from Aaron Judge before? Yes. For example, Judge missed 54 games with an oblique injury in 2019 and the Yankees over that stretch went 37-17 without him. They can do it again this time around!!!!!!!!!! #RepBX
@SharpStats17 I think the #Yankees will be just fine. It's sad to see Aaron Judge be out for awhile, but the AL overall isn't very strong this season and the Yankees just need to take advantage of that. They only scored two runs today, but won on the strength of strong pitching and a timely hit by Ryan McMahon. Strong pitching will continue to carry them down the stretch and guys like Ben Rice and more will help us too. It's not the worst news which would have been a season-ending injury at least. Hopefully the Yankees rally around their captain and play well without him!!!!!!!!!!🙏❤️#RepBX
@rationalyankee The rib injury certainly explains why Aaron Judge wasn't performing at his normal level this season. Now that we have the full picture, I think that Judge will be back to his level when he comes back. The pitching staff will carry the team and the hitters will certainly do so too. The #Yankees also have two players on the mend as Jason Dominguez starts his rehab assignment tomorrow and Giancarlo Stanton is continuing to progress in his rehab and those players will be huge contributors when they return. The AL in general hasn't performed well this year and that's beneficial to us too. #RepBX
@BrendanKutyNJ I do agree with that, but I think the Yankees will perform well down the stretch. The Yankees lost him for two months in 2019 and performed well without him. #Yankees#RepBX
@JessicaDBrand Judge's injury is certainly bad news, but it's not the end of the #Yankees season. Every team deals with injuries over the course of the season and I think the Yankees have great depth to get through this!!!!!! Obviously baseball will miss him until he's ready to return and let's just hope that he heals quickly right now.🙏❤️
@pamsson Obviously the loss of Judge is a huge loss to the #Yankees, but at least it's not a season-ending injury which would have been the worst case scenario. I believe that Spencer Jones will likely be called up tomorrow when Judge goes on the IL and there is good news on the horizon as Jasson Dominguez begins a rehab assignment tomorrow and he should be an everyday player when he returns and Giancarlo Stanton continues to make progress and hopefully he comes back at some point this month!!!!!! Ben Rice has had a breakout season and the Yankees will be heavily relying on him and others as they sit just a half-game behind the now-struggling Rays after Tampa Bay has lost 8 of their last 10. Significant injuries are inevitable for every team over the course of a season and sometimes teams never recover while others fight through it, and I believe the Yankees will do the latter!!!!!! #RepBX
@DrJesseMorse Stress fractures in ribs are often very tricky injuries to diagnosis properly. I also don't think Judge's current injury is related to the rib stress fracture he had 6 years ago. Let's hope he heals as quickly as possible as the game of baseball will miss him for awhile.
@YankeeSource With the bad news on Aaron Judge, expect Spencer Jones to be called back up tomorrow. There is also good news on the horizon as Jasson Dominguez starts his rehab assignment tomorrow and hopefully Giancarlo Stanton will return after the upcoming road trip to Cleveland and Toronto. The #Yankees just simply need their best hitters to produce down the stretch such as Ben Rice, Cody Bellinger, etc. They have a better roster in 2023 when Judge's toe injury essentially ended their season. They are just a half-game behind the Rays for not only the division lead but the AL's best record too. I think we will overcome this and let's just hope Judge heals as quick as possible!!!!!! #RepBX
@ChrisKirschner I'm very confident we will overcome this. Good thing Jason Dominguez starts his rehab assignment tomorrow and maybe Stanton could be back after the upcoming road trip!!!!!!!!!! #Yankees#RepBX
@JackCurryYES Obviously losing Judge is a huge blow, but it's not gloom and doom for the Yankees season. They still have great depth and this will open the door for several players down the stretch. No word yet on a corresponding roster move tomorrow, but I'd expect Spencer Jones to be called back up. Jasson Dominguez is also starting a rehab assignment tomorrow and hopefully the Yankees will also get Giancarlo Stanton back in the not too distant future too. I'm not a doctor, but stress fractures in ribs are usually tricky injuries to diagnosis and at least thoracic outlet syndrome has been ruled out and we do expect Judge to play again this season. The Yankees just need to continue to play well down the stretch and they are currently just a half-game behind the Rays for the best record in the AL!!!!!!!!!! #Yankees #RepBX
@Patrice_Carson Obviously losing Aaron Judge is a massive blow. At least he doesn't have thoracic outlet syndrome and more importantly his injury isn't season-ending. We just need who's on the team right now to pick up the slack until he returns. We are only a half-game out of first place and we do have the team that can keep us in contention until we get him back. Let's hope Judge gets well soon and we will rally around him for the time being.🙏
The Yankees have announced that Aaron Judge has a stress fracture. He will be reimaged in approximately 4-6 weeks. The team does expect him to return this season.
Judge has a stress fracture of the first rib on his right side, the Yankees said. He’ll require a period of rest and limited activity. Judge will be re-imaged in about 4-6 weeks to determine how much he’s healed. Yanks said Judge is expected to return at some point this season.
