We are all a little weird and lifes a little weird, when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we fall in mutual weirdness and call it love
Happy summer solstice! 🌞
This year's solstice happened at exactly 04:42 AM CEST, the moment the Sun reached its northernmost point in the sky.
Seen from space, Earth puts on quite the show. These views capture a full year of shifting light and shadow, from one June solstice to the next.
At this point in our orbit, the day–night line (known as the terminator) is tilted at its most dramatic angle. The Northern Hemisphere gets its longest day of the year, while the Southern Hemisphere experiences its shortest.
A dog who was trapped in a mine shaft for 4 days couldn't stop wagging his tail during his rescue. This is Ted. He and his sister Penny wandered off their family's property last week in Victoria, Australia. When the pair didn't return home, their family began an extensive search. Despite efforts, the dogs were nowhere to be found, until a neighbor came across Penny on their morning walk. She was standing at the opening of a 26-foot deep mineshaft where Ted had fallen in, keeping watch over her brother. The Trentham Fire Brigade and the Country Fire Authority rescue team were then able to descend down the shaft and rescue Ted. As a show of gratitude for his rescuers, Ted's tail never stopped wagging on the way up. Ted has since been reunited with Penny and his overjoyed family, and promised to keep his adventures above ground from here on out. 13/10 for all
‘Gigil’ has long been a favourite untranslatable: finding something or someone so impossibly cute you just want to squeeze them (not always great for the squeezee). https://t.co/sltAJVJPOD
This is Theo. He's always looking out for his older sister Mia. Sometimes that means simply making sure she gets enough pets at day care. 13/10 for both
This is Trigger, aka The Dogfather. After 39 litters and 323 puppies, he's officially retiring. He worked for 7 years with @GuideDogs UK, helping people with vision loss gain independence. His record litter in 2021 had 16 puppies, and his last one had five girls and a boy. 15/10
The weather today was unreal. Biblical. I had to spend hours moving things to find indoor space for every lamb that’s already been born. Fair to say though that they’re pretty happy about it.
If you’re in need of a smile, I’d like to remind you that one word for your intestines in the 14th century (first recorded in a translation of the Bible) was ‘arseropes’.
