EVRI's mission to make you recycle more... is to put your parcels in your green wheelie bin... and no note through your door! 😢 Thanks #Evri#hermes !!

I wish trees could talk. I wonder what stories this ancient tree could tell...
I've been busy this week completing walkover surveys on the rail for some upcoming track renewal works, and whilst in Stafford, I couldn't resist taking a little detour to visit this beauty! ❤
Surveyed a whopping 509ha last week & I was so impressed by the farmers in Yorkshire creating a haven for wildlife.. wide species rich field margins full of dragonflies & butterflies, hedgerows full of birds, trees idyllic for roosting bats, woodland with active badgers setts....
I've been combining my love of photography with learning scientific names of plants...
So here's the first of many to come.
#1 - Hare's foot clover
(Trifolium arvense)

Over the moon to have won the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management Award in the category of Promising Professional.
It was a brilliant day celebrating in London and one I'll never forget! 🥰

Yesterday I attended @CIEEMnet members network event for the Yorkshire & Humber.
Thank you to Clare Cashon for organising the event & sharing her botanical knowledge 🌱 & @ecology_digest for a fascinating insight into invertebrate surveys 🕷
Cant wait for the next one! 😊
So many bee orchids along the canal at Woodlesford, Leeds ❤
The orchid mimics a bee to attract pollinators... but the right bee species doesn't live in the UK so these are self-pollinators #wildflowerhour@CanalRiverTrust#springwatch
White dead-nettles (Lamium album) are really underrated! They do not sting but these gentle plants have a fierce appearance. It's the latest species (No. 224) going in the flower press, along with a few others collected this week... 🌼 #botany#ecology#nature#wildflowers
