Construction and painting finished apart from the pitot tube. All that’s left now is a coat of varnish, the decals and trying to stop the landing gear from collapsing!
Started now on a Gloster E.28/39, Britain’s first jet aircraft. The kit didn’t come with any decals for the instrument panel so I tried my hand at painting it myself, as well as using a gloss clear-coat to portray the glass on the gauges.
Sabre complete! Some of the decals broke up a bit but I managed to arrange them again. Quite an unusual paint scheme for this aircraft but I like it nonetheless.
Main structure complete! Wings were far easier that the fuselage although by no means a simple fit, drop-tanks fitted and landing gear started, as well as the underside painted.
Despite a lot of finagling, the two fuselage halves barely fit together so I had to use a generous amount of superglue to hold it in place and plenty of filler to smoothen the join.
New model started, a Canadiar Sabre in RAF colours this time. Started this a few weeks ago to be honest but lost a bit of enthusiasm as this is a pretty poor tooling!
