@Balagued@DanToma85@what_Drew_read @AlexShawESPN I’m also in that photo. Oh, and I’m a Global Marketing Director at a Fortune 500 company. Just sayin’.
@BeerOClockShow I think this is highly context dependent, but I’m taking this from the solo consumption angle. It’s gotta be 330 - especially with the rocketing average ABVs.
@BeerOClockShow I’ve chosen new, because I’m an absolute slave to hype. However, I’m not sure where regular seasonals fit into this. Like, I’ll buy ‘Putty’ 11 times out of 10.
@BeerOClockShow I love a special as much as the next person, but it has to be anchored for something. It doesn’t have to be extensive, but a strong flagship, which is consistently great, is the mark of true brewing expertise.
@BeerOClockShow I’m not sure how to define ‘too widely available’. It sounds like this is really about at which point craft becomes macro. Either way, I’d wager that people buy more punk IPA now than they did before it went into every supermarket.
@BeerOClockShow If it leads to less creativity/availability from producers, it can’t possibly be good for consumers. Cutting progress off at the knees.
@BeerOClockShow Occasionally - Marble’s Earl Grey IPA, for example. However, I prefer it when brewers achieve similar flavour notes with variations on core ingredients - banana in Belgian styles with yeast, stone-fruit in IPA with hops etc.
