@Bmanix69@BuffaloDiocese Hi Brian. The bishop, COO, lawyer and PR guy all seemed to be paying attention. But the former bishop who did much of the covering up, and the attorneys who played a big role in his decisions were noticeably absent.
An update from U.S. Bankruptcy Court, where @BuffaloDiocese survivors made statements before Chief Judge Carl Bucki and addressed Bishop Michael Fisher and diocese officials.
ICYMI: @GovKathyHochul signed into law new prison reforms. We spoke with a woman who says her husband was beaten @ Wende about whether she thinks these laws can make a difference. https://t.co/U8AMhnRijH

Sheriff Garcia and Undersheriff Cooley defended the politically connected Granville, whose family holds jobs at the Sheriff’s Office, Buffalo Police, the Buffalo Sewer Authority and the Erie County District Attorney's office. https://t.co/3hB0XWLNM4
Sheriff Garcia repeatedly denied accusations of a cover-up and insisted his office acted appropriately after learning of the crash. https://t.co/1HveNF84tr
Vinal asks why Garcia didn’t just go and watch body cam video the day after the crash to see if Granville appeared drunk.
Garcia says it was BPD investigation.
“You chose not to ask. He chose not to volunteer it,” Vinal says.
References person who witnessed beer bottles on floor of truck and Granville smelling of alcohol.
“Did you try to obtain anything else?” she asks.
Garcia then suggests if what witness says was “true…there might have been a different outcome.”
St. Jean Tard asks Garcia if Granville was at Key Bank Center drinking between being off the clock at 6 pm and back on the clock at 11 pm.
Garcia says he doesn’t know.
St. Jean Tard asks Garcia if Granville was at Key Bank Center drinking between being off the clock at 6 pm and back on the clock at 11 pm.
Garcia says he doesn’t know.
“Are we saying that because he’s a South Buffalo Irish cop that he was drunk?” Garcia says, suggesting Granville was being stereotyped.
Then makes a reference to “implicit bias.”
