I’ve recently started painting in oils - pleased that my painting ‘Bus Stop’ has been selected for the #ironstoneartprize exhibition at Banbury Museum - starting on Saturday 27th Jan to 10th March 2024
Me watching a documentary about psychopaths and how they "prefer to stay at home, don't have many friends and can get very upset over a minor inconvenience"
Teenage boy with autism euthanised in the Netherlands.
I think this is wrong. 😥
Takeaway point: “Assisted suicide and euthanasia regimes quickly become dangerous for the most vulnerable people in society: the sick, the disabled, and the elderly.”

Sometimes you receive something that stops you in your tracks. An 85 year old neighbours loves his newspaper with breakfast. His wife passed a few years ago and it’s his way of keeping up to date with news. He told me in passing the local shop has stopped delivering them and because of mobility issues he can’t get one. So I said I’d get it him and he have it for his breakfast. It doesn’t put me out. I’m up and about anyway. He sent me this note. Small things matter. #bekind
@Deliveroo@sainsburys@ThamesVP Thanks for your response. For clarification, I’m reposting on behalf of a local man who has posted on Nextdoor - the delivery was made to his neighbour so likely he doesn’t have app. Will DM with more details.
New painting of Lily from Moggies rescue Aberdare
She’s 10 years old.
She came into the rescue because her owner and best friend became very unwell and was moved into a care home.
She has missed her every day since.
Lily has been here for over a year with zero applications.

Norwegian photographer, women's suffragist Marie Høeg (1866-1949) made late 19thc and early 20thc photography including self portraits which challenged how women were expected to be portrayed #WomensArt
I am a committed trade unionist of 35 years standing. I am proud of everything the trade union movement has achieved throughout history. But its abandonment of women fighting to defend their sex-based rights makes me ashamed. Whenever there is a successful tribunal or court result for women - such as today, with the Darlington nurses - mainstream unions are nowhere to be seen. And invariably they lament the outcome. Women are being forced to rely on the Free Speech Union and Christian groups to fight their corner. It’s an utter disgrace.
Listen folks. This is worrying. Actually, it’s not worrying, it’s terrifying. I have sat with people who are about to, and are planning on ending their lives. I’ve talked them back from the edge. I’ve sat and prayed and sobbed and talked and laughed. This is not coercion, this is love in action.
