We can explore the past, of course. But we also want to have an eye on the future. And we want to pick up when coachees are rehashing the past, trying to change it

How much regulation should there be of coach training providers? ICF and other bodies regulate providers who offer qualifications. But what about all the unaccredited providers and courses? It’s frustrating to see people joining courses that don’t have validity or a good pedigree
Do you record your coaching sessions to listen back to? Such a useful thing to you. We hear all of the good coaching skills, and also our unhelpful practices. So much more useful than relying on our memories for analysing if our session was any good! #coaching#selfreflection
Can coaching be used in the classroom? Absolutely! Teachers can ask more than tell, can elicit more than instruct. Coaching involves skillful questioning and focused listening – the bread and butter of teachers. #teacherswhocoach
There has been a recent trend for coaching fees to be driven down. Purchasers of coaching negotiate hard. Coaching houses who subcontract to coaches often have low fee rates set.
Coaches are professionals and are entitled to earn a decent fee for high quality and valuable work
Schools are busy places. Teachers and leaders are busy people. Finding time to be coached is difficult. And yet.. all teachers and leaders report of the huge power and benefit of being coached well. Time and space to think, reflect and plan.

What is the highlight of your coaching week? Is it a
satisfied coachee after a session? A new bit of learning? A new or returning client? Or all of the above? Coaches who focus on clients, business growth and personal
development equally have a good balance

Hard to work out which coaching qualification to take? There are so many. Three coaching industry bodies, several university degrees, workplace qualifications, unaccredited courses. It’s a minefield.
