Firefighters are currently spending their time clearing dry brush away from PCH in Santa Monica.
With the Palisades fire only 2 miles away, it’s absolute madness that precious resources are still going to basic landscaping management.

@PaulinaJones Tell them to take that shit to court if they want that money. Tell them to point out to you in the contract your parents signed where it said they’d owe money in the event of a catastrophic loss
Nighttime air drops near Mandeville Canyon on the #PalisadesFire. I’ve never seen anything like it. The skill and precision needed to do this during the day is one thing. At night?! Next level. Also seeing dozers and hand crews working in the same area to cut lines.
LA is not an easy town to survive in, no matter what ur tax bracket is. We’re all one tragedy away 4rm losing it all. People work multiple jobs to maintain. To all the outside folks that have something negative to say, u’d never make it here & that’s why u don’t live here.
Today I was granted access to speak with incarcerated firefighters.
They told me:
- they hadn’t showered in 5 days
- they were not provided regularly meals
- they were working 24 hours in a row
- they feel under appreciated and underpaid
The Pacific Palisades fire has animals fleeing the mountains and hills and relocating to residents lawns
This is on Pico Boulevard & La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, California which is very inland, this is close to Beverly Hills
The animals seem completely exhausted
I'm not a pilot but I have to imagine that you have to be an absolute BADASS to skim the water in what is basically a flying tank, over and over all day long, and do it with the accuracy it takes to scoop up 1,000+ gallons of water and not have an accident.
My hat is off to these pilots!!
I honestly think tweeting this should give @ewarren jail time.
It would be just morally scummy to use the the disaster to promote skimming 3.95% off the top.
It’s criminal to make the claim 100% goes to charity when your party gets nearly 4%.
Jail.
This is a disgrace. It’s actually like murder. They knew it would kill people, but they did it anyway the governor and all of the fire commission all these assholes that did it should be put in prison and fired immediately.
See UCLA?
Across Sunset is Marymount HS & behind it and on either side is Bel Air. Tp the south is Beverly Hills. To the east a couple of miles on Sunset is the Runyan Canyon Fire.
