If you are prepping for #WaterSciCon24 and have work related to climate change impacts on streamflow, water quality, aquatic ecosystems, or management - check out our session The Future of Aquatic Flows and consider submitting an abstract! See you there 😊 https://t.co/bXdlRIy7Nh
@Ti_Enjoli For example my car is from 2010, so I don’t have the highest coverage anymore for certain things because my car’s value is lower. But every once in a while they try to bump me up to full coverage again!
@Ti_Enjoli I always call and work to negotiate a lower rate when they put it up, you can even get discounts for having a PhD! Also if you moved recently some states are higher because they are no fault states.
@KJMDPhD I also love being able to check out audiobooks for free with apps like Libby and Hoppla with my public library card! Some libraries have games, technology like cameras, and museum day passes you can check out too!
@AGU_H3S @adampricehydro Open to tips for setting up the new M2 processors with all the scripting languages and terminal commands. I've heard newer systems may come with less loaded so require more manual customization... even though I use clusters, it is nice to have on the laptop.
@AGU_H3S Like @adampricehydro, I work on a cluster! Honestly, I still use my 2012 Macbook Pro Retina (8GB RAM, Core i7) to interface🙈 love all the ports and UNIX-based system. May be "ancient" but it gets the work done 😅 Time to retire soon - in the market for more RAM!
@GeoEdResearch For me modern cars with screens & GPS while driving. I just find them to be distracting/overwhelming and give me a false sense of security in my ability to multitask at the wheel. Yes they can help & improve safety. But I will hang onto my “simple” 2010 car as long as possible.
Let's talk crop planting dates! Our new paper mapping maize and soybean planting dates in the US Corn Belt using Landsat time series for 2000-2020 is out in RSE (open access) https://t.co/eg90ORIl5J…

@DanykaKByrnes @SarahTorhan @Soilhub Guess I better take my father up on those guitar lessons! Egg shakers and cowbell are critical components of the rhythm section 😉
@DanykaKByrnes @SarahTorhan Fascinating find! I was also going to add “frost heave” but see it has already been added thanks to @Soilhub ! Frost Heave would be a great band name 🎸 😂 Here’s one I saw a couple years back in a wetland in Indiana, you can see multiple ice lenses - so cool!
@gersandelf my response is cheeky, but also made me realize a majority of my follows are related to gov science agencies or funded research … I hope communities built on Twitter can find a way to keep thriving, sharing knowledge, providing support, and raising awareness.
@mycomira you should coin that the mycelial musing technique. All energy is spent on the silent creation of vast networks of connections in your 🧠. One day it will come in handy 😂
Extremely frustrated and disappointed with Purdue's Student Health Center. "Inconveniences" is an understatement for disruptions this decision will cause to students, including myself. #ADHD treatment choices should be between an individual and their provider, no room for Purdue!
"I fear their course of action is both perpetuating the stigma surrounding stimulant medication and burdening individuals who depend on these medications to be productive students and university employees" Thanks @purdueexponent for picking this story up! https://t.co/2nqbC8b6uO
