There's more COVlD out there than just about any time in the past several months.
Rather than trying to block that from one's mind through defense mechanisms like denial, be #OneOfTheTwo to #MaskUp.
Psychological & physical health depend on reality-based awareness.
@jonstewart I am #OneoftheTwo becuz I have severe asthma and deal with pneumonia regularly. My sister in law is wheelchair bound after getting Covid while she was a nurse in the ER. One of my best friends passed away due to Covid. I also struggle with Long Covid.
Here is a thread I made when Candida auris began jumping from person-to-person for the first time EVER. Biden was President & we were 4 months into Back to Normal.
Everyone ignored it.
By 2024, we had C. auris clusters in children’s hospitals, & some states quit reporting it.
Hey @jonstewart, Tom Hanks is #oneofthetwo.
“I’m doing a play right now so I cannot get sick… I’ve had COVID enough in my life, I don’t need to do that again. So I’m wearing this for health reasons.”

Just your #UNGA lone maskers out here #saltingthevibes at #UNGA80 Summit high-level meetings, doing all we can to fly the flag for 400 million people impacted globally by #LongCOVID. Shout out to Aussie Plum Stone of @SaferAirProject who launch their Global Call to Action today!
Prof. C Scheibenbogen has set up an international declaration calling for a significant expansion of biomedical research and drug development for ME/CFS and Long COVID.
So far 65 experts have signed on, including Prof. Akiko Iwasaki.

A two year old girl was shot and killed with a bullet to the head tonight in Jenin, bringing the total number of Palestinians killed in Jenin as part of Operation Iron Wall to 16.
15 killed by Israel and 1 killed by the Palestinian Authority.
At least 36 Palestinians have been killed in the last 3 weeks. It’s only been 25 days since the New Year.
In fact, just recently on 18 March 2024, Andrew (@GwynneMP) pointed out in ‘Work & Pensions Questions’ in Parliament that:
“…a significant number of people not in work because of health conditions will be down to some form of post-viral fatigue linked to Long Covid.”
#COVIDisAirborne . We must promote safety esp in public indoor spaces.
Review all tools ie air filtration to be ready for future pandemics! Here was one of our NDP solutions put forth to Ford govt based on @O_S_P_E recommendations for safer indoor air:

Doug, why are ple in Ontario paying for COVID tests?
Please stop with fantasy tunnels and foreign luxury spas and focus on our health!
It’s bad enough millions of folks don’t have access to family doctor on your watch!
When they feel sick at least give them a FREE COVID TEST!
Turns out that elites have lungs and blood vessels just like everyone else.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has cancelled all travel for the next two weeks due to “severe pneumonia.”
Unfortunately, the numbers are not reliable as few people test. The possibility of developing longCOVID with “mild” infection is very real. Clinicians are seeing more and more “unexplained” cardiovascular health issues in even the young population. Very few are joining the dots.
@JILLSLASTWORD@ShopprsDrugMart This is an Equity issue
lots of folk can't afford to pay for tests
ON only has 3 unpaid job-protected sick days/year

To make matters worse
Ford refuses to MANDATE masks in healthcare settings, while CONDONING rampant spread of COVID & REFUSING pass IAQ LAW
I was at TorontoWesternHospital. Their on-site @ShopprsDrugMart sells COVID tests (RATs).
Ford has the power to help us socialize responsibly, help our overrun ERs, help vulnerable people, keep small biz/ restaurants open by making COVID TESTS FREE! #onpoli#CovidIsNotOver
Aquired Brain Injury: permanent brain damage aquired through an ailment, medical emergency, etc.
"Cognitive impairment"
"Brain fog"
"Memory issues"
"Emotional regulation difficulty"
Those are all side effects of ABI.
We need to talk about ABIs more, especially with Long Covid.
@NeejaB Well, there's one thing that'd help: reduce staffing shortages driven by illness by universal masking in all areas, not just clinical ones. Because they're airborne: covid, flu, RSV.
@NeejaB Thanks for the update. I appreciate all that you do.
While mismanagement and funding are no doubt part of the problem IMO ignoring COVID and its sequela are contributing to this problem. Health systems all around the world are under similar load.
I think a huge barrier to taking covid seriously for those who gave up on taking it seriously is the fact that doing the right thing would mean having to acknowledge that they’ve been causing harm and possibly even killing people for years. But like, grow the fuck up.
