Thanks so much to @ResWestMids for a fabulous family law debate yesterday evening at @MillsandReeve. Matthew and I were flying the flag for @StIvesFamily, debating this very, very uncontroversial topic. 👀
I had the privilege of contributing to the discussions which fed into this ground-breaking and thought-provoking report from @ResFamilyLaw and of attending its launch this evening. I strongly encourage all who do FR work to read and consider it carefully.
As we continue to wait for guidance on covert recordings, let this stand as a(nother) warning that making such recordings can seriously backfire. Here as a basis for a finding of CCB. R (Children: Fact Finding: Audio Recordings : CCB) [2024] EWFC 201 (B) https://t.co/VzFNcIm3Ma
Domestic abuse, s.25(2)(g) conduct and FR case management are very hot topics at present. I’ll be speaking about them at our @StIvesFamily seminar in November. This @fr_journal blog by @SamHillas, @OliviaPiercy2 and Anita Mehta is well worth reading now.

@louisetickle The judgment makes clear the parties reconciled for 3 years after the assault, the father had a period of assessed supervised contact, he was risk assessed and psychologically assessed and found - 10 years later with no further violence in between - to not be a risk to the boys.
