Connecticut Senator Ryan Fazio exposes Democrats introduced a huge 104 page bill just minutes before it would be voted on to ensure no one would have time to read it

They then passed it without reading it and Republicans had no say

“Right now, the Connecticut State Legislature is in a special session with the Democratic supermajority in governor trying to pass four significant pieces of legislation, which were only released in their final form before a vote in the House of Representatives today, minutes or hours before being voted upon by your elected representatives.

— It is a 104 page bill that was released just an hour before debate started on the state House of Representatives. It was only able to be introduced under an emergency certification, which suspends the rules, but there's There is no emergency that requires us to pass this legislation just an hour after it was introduced.

It was passed without any negotiation with Republican legislators in the minority who were willing to go to the table, myself included, willing to go to the table in good faith to negotiate and try to find common ground.

Lamont signed the housing bill . It says if you worked hard to buy a single family home in a quiet neighborhood, you can't have that. He will move in a trailer park or affordable housing project next door, to achieve "economic diversity." I will fight and defeat this.

Beware of the psychopaths.

While in Congress, it was not unusual for me to meet government personnel who showed signs of psychopathology.

In a system of government that irrationally clings to pure democracy (i.e., the majority, urged on by the elite) the elite can very easily victimize the majority.

The process is accomplished by false, and very grand, promises that the majority readily accept.

Such a system is not uncommon throughout history. It has always led to moral and financial bankruptcy; along with a steady increase in violence.

Liberty, sound money, and non-intervention in the affairs of foreign nations offer the solution.

The CT state legislature’s Democratic supermajority last week rammed through a bill that’s a thinly disguised socialist wishlist.

Cynically couched as a remedy for the affordable housing crisis, its real purpose is ideological: forcing Connecticut’s 169 towns to achieve what the bill calls “economic diversity.”

Translation: If you’ve worked hard to own a home in a leafy suburb with quiet streets, you can’t live there unless everybody can — including those with low incomes and even the homeless.

🏠I led debate into the early morning against HB8002 and in defense of local control of our towns and cities. HB8002 is a 53-section omnibus housing bill that was introduced just one hour before debate began on the House floor and wasn't subject to any public hearings. It was a historic intrusion on home rule and local control and will undermine our communities without making the state affordable. In the Senate I've fought to defend local control, but the governor and legislative supermajority keep eroding it. As governor, I'll repeal and replace 8-30g and HB8002, defend local control, pass a property tax cap, and make the state truly affordable.

ALERT towns and cities: If your town gets a project of EXACTLY 16 units after 7/1/2026,NO PARKING CAN BE REQUIRED. This apparent oversight by Majority Leaders and their secret bill that was only seen in the light of day for less than 48 hours before being passed by a party line vote of Democrats alone, will apparently be "fixed" per Planning and Development Chair, Sen. MD Rahman during the next legislative session BEFORE the provision is effective on 7/1/2026.

At 11:02:58- ANY exactly 16 unit residential project can require no parking. In addition, the bill says no projects can be denied by P&Zs on parking alone.
Our recommendation statewide: Municipalities should change their regs RIGHT NOW to not permit any development of exactly 16 residential units until the legislators in Hartford fix this bill.

I introduced two amendments to remove sanctuary protections for illegal immigrants in CT arrested for Class A+B felonies like *murder* or convicted of Class C+D felonies like *manslaughter*.
