@Alan_Couzens Sadly in the case of my severely dilated left atrium (which will never return to normal) I ended up with AFib that required 2 cardiac ablations to regain sinus rhythm. Unfortunately my aerobic capacity is now significantly diminished as a result of years of endurance training.
