Ahoy fellow Pirates!
Who remembers FRIENDS ? But who has seen a pirate version of it. ๐ดโโ ๏ธ
Me and a bunch of scurvy pirates recreated the intro of the legendary series "Friends" in #SeaOfThieves.
@SeaOfThieves#SeaOfThieves#bemorepirate#friends
@NyxieNocturnal If you ever need any useless info on old school, American made, don't be afraid to ask. I have tons of useless car/truck information rattling around in my head that idk what to do with. ๐
@NyxieNocturnal If you are entry-level starting out, I recommend American made and older personally, as they are much easier to diagnose and get your hands dirty with. But don't be afraid to take the dive with just about anything with the amount of information with a quick search these days.
@NyxieNocturnal The real question is, what are you looking to get out of it as well? Type of project/fun car? Here in the south, there is a variety of directions to go, but I know you have seasons to worry about. Import? Tuner? High HP? Track car? Speedy street? Or big project build?
JC who originally posted one of the Bruno files has been banned from the #seaofthieves official discord for โDiscussing pirated/illegal materialโ (ie. talking abt leaked stuff?. You know who WASNT banned for talking about leaked future content?
BRUNO! (see third screenshot).
In my opinion, the moderation team is looking for excuses to ban people who spoke up about the Bruno thing, and is getting away with it because they are doing it one person at a time (no massive ban wave that will spark outrage)
I have a question for all the people (partners and players) who are not currently boycotting the game rn. This isn't meant to be an attack but simply a constructive convo...
For those of you who are saying "we should wait for the internal investigation to finish" or "Its not fair for the devs who make the game" etc etc, a question I have for all of you is...
What are you going to do in the event that neither Jo or Shirah get removed from their position? Just keep playing the game like normal and continue to "speak out"?
Speak out for what exactly? Speaking out into the wind hoping what you have to say actually amounts to anything?
Speaking out by making a Twitter post, using a hash tag on twitch, making a comment in discord, writing a review on steam, etc.
Will that be what you do until this situation eventually fades away into obscurity and becomes the next "absurd" joke? Or do you have an actual plan for the outcome (which seems most likely rn) that this whole situation gets swept under the rug at rare.
I really truly want to understand what continuing to speak out actually does for this situation once the dust settles and nothing has been done.
I ask this from the position that over the past several years, Rare has failed time and time again to listen to feedback and adhere to what the broader community wants changed with the communications team.
Why will this situation be any different?
#SeaOfThieves
I really struggle with this.
If you actually know me, and follow along with my posts on Twitter, you know that it pains me to say this to those with higher voice than me.
I think this take is in bad faith, Noob, honestly I do.
I'm not looking down on any creator. I'm simply asking for help.
I want this community to come to the conclusion and understanding that what we are currently doing isn't enough.
You on the other hand, seem to take a lot of offense to me asking this and I'm not really sure why.
As members of the #SeaOfThieves community, I believe it's our duty to use our voices and our actions for positive change. The Sea of Thieves community has failed to protect multiple victims at seprate occasions and that needs to be both highlighted and addressed. 1/?
It's now been two weeks since this document was released and yet Rare has still done nothing to address this situation.
Meanwhile, Partners and creators continue to platform this game and hide behind "waiting for Rare."
How long will you wait? 2 more weeks? Months? Years?
The evidence is right in front of your face.
For two weeks myself, and others, have posted, shown proof and explained that this situation was enabled by Rare staff, contractors, and those closest to them.
*** I'm asking this community to stop platforming this game. ***
If you are a content creator for SoT, please stop. I know this is a big ask. I know you enjoy playing this game and the community that it brings. I realize that there is a brand new shiny update. It's selfish of me to ask you this. I get it.
But please understand that until something major is actually done, until creators ACTUALLY take action, Rare is going to string along this community and hide behind the guise of needing time to investigate for months or even likely years. They are banking on you forgetting about this. There are actions that can be taken TODAY that do not defy the legal process and they are refusing to take them.
Please stop giving them an out.
Please hold them accountable.
Your voice and actions matter.
Unfortunately, I think we need to do more than what we are currently doing.
The Sea of Thieves Official Discord has to take accountability.
Looking back at the context of the shit that Bruno was allowed to post and say to people is extremely disturbing...
This gif reference is used HUNDREDS of times in the 38k messages that were sent. Typically during discussions regarding sexual topics (which is prohibited according to the rules).
Users in the Discord were actively tagging moderators, saying they were uncomfortable...all ignored.
@AlmtyChcknPoo Everybody is growing silent about this.
The Devs are tweeting as normal.
CM team remains.
Discord mods muting people.
SoT blocking accounts on twitter to silence people.
People not willing to boycott.
Partners not stepping down.
They are getting away with it, it's sick.
Another based take by Nessie. It really could be the solution to this entire mess. I personally think at the end of this J0toro is gone as well, but I'm not sure how the other pieces will fall. Truthfully, that's where the mess is. There are still problem people on the team who need to go, or nothing will change for the better. Down deep, I truly want what's best for SoT and always have wanted that. Fake wholesome does not accomplish that, pure criticism and change where necessary does.
Incorrect, they are all in the same boat. Currently, the Community Management Team has made zero noticeable changes. So the entire company must suffer in order to bring change at that point. Otherwise, it is no different than the enabling behaviors of the CM Team from the Bruno situation, "we lack sufficient evidence, proceed as planned."
We as consumers DEMAND change, whether they think it's necessary or not, and if you choose to ride the fence, or give a middle ground take on this, you are part of the problem and defending their behaviors as well. Selling out morals, for what? Some cosmetics? A few hours of fun? Be part of something bigger than yourself and demand real change and accountability from Rare, for once. Hold them to their hollow words or face the fallout.
Do NOT attack the dev team or other teams, but definitely boycott and be vocal about your disgust of this to them. Make sure they all know how we feel as a community since the Community Management Team is so terrible at their job duties. I don't want my message to send mixed signals. But they should not get ANY support from us until this is corrected.
Taking a break from @SeaOfThieves to make a stand is fine, but itโs not fair or realistic to expect 200 people who have nothing to do with the CM team or its abysmal decisions to stop doing their jobs.
Youโre directing frustration at the wrong people. Drew still has to lead production and make dev updates. Designers still need to design. Editors still need to edit videos. Mike still has to write story content. Engineers still need to program, etc.
The dev teams are not the CM team, anyone whoโs worked at a large company knows that these different teams rarely interact.
Donโt punish people who didnโt cause this. Focus criticism on the small number of CMs & Mods who ignored evidence, failed to listen to victims, censored us, and put us in this situation in the first place.
#FireJ0toro #FireShirah
I agree Happy should have been immediately removed.
I also 100% agree that it is a process and may take several weeks. My comments stem from the way that the others involved behaved once they were granted their perms back on Monday. It was back to business as usual for the most part, with very little change. The only reasonable change so far has been Jo not being involved, or as it seems. How long is long enough, though? 1 week? 2 weeks? 1 month? 6 months? Are we still going to be muting people for speaking about criticisms in 2 months while Shirah tried to talk about drinking coffee or tea or giving wrong information about skeleton ships?
