An idea for Project Helix: Make a console without GPU and RAM. Allow the consumers to purchase their own based on their actual need/budget. Limit GPU to like 3 custom-made models like Xbox storage cards. As to RAM, these things are pretty universal.
Probably more important than console exclusives, what Microsoft needs is getting PC games to release on Microsoft Store at the same time of, if not sooner than, they hit Steam. Not being able to consolidate all my PC gaming to the broader Xbox platform is very frustrating.
We want people to choose XBOX because of great games and experiences. That also means giving you something that was made for XBOX.
Gears of War: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution will be XBOX console exclusives!
Really intrigued by the new Surface powered by Nvidia Spark. Then realized at top specs it's basically the same as DGX Spark, which is priced 4.7k bucks before tax.🫥
To save Xbox, Asha Sharma doesn't have to defeat PlayStation or Steam — she has to defeat Microsoft itself.
Microsoft's insane 30% profit margin aspirations have devastated Xbox more than people realize, and it will take years to fix. Microsoft under Satya Nadella has shown itself to think in months, rather than years, and that's a huge problem for a platform that needs a long-term, consistent solution.
Asha Sharma needs to do the unthinkable: defeat Xbox's biggest enemy, which is Microsoft itself.

I have faith in Microsoft but not in Nadella. Guy's been tirelessly trying to dismantle everything Microsoft used to stand for over the years. Need someone else at the top. Even Steve Ballmer is better.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella just commented about winning back consumers across Windows, Xbox, and more:
"When it comes to our consumer business, we're doing the foundational work required to win back fans and strengthen engagement across Windows, Xbox, Bing, and Edge. In the near term we are focused on fundamentals, prioritizing quality and serving our core users better. You see this in the work underway across our consumer products. With Windows, we recently announced performance improvements for lower memory devices, streamlined the Windows Update experience, and brought back focus to core features and fundamentals that matter most to our customers. And you also see this in Xbox, where the team is recommitting to our core fans and players and shaping the future of play. Last week's Game Pass changes are one example of how we are staying responsive to customer feedback. Monthly Active Windows devices surpassed 1.6 billion... Bing monthly active users reached 1 billion for the first time.
We set new records for monthly Xbox active users in the quarter, as well as game streaming hours. In Microsoft 365 Consumer we have nearly 95 million subscribers."

This is ridiculous. Xbox Studios is running a sale on Steam, including not-yet-released title (Kiln). Meanwhile, basically all new blockbusters get an Xbox release but skips Windows Store in favor of Steam. @Microsoft seriously?
If @Microsoft is serious about pushing forward their PC/console fusion plan, the first thing they should start doing now is forcing developers to sign Play Anywhere deals, especially those already have PC builds prepared for Steam.
@tomwarren Don't think they're gonna lower the price, especially for Ultimate. Just hoping they'd add something of actual value to the package. Family sharing would be nice.
Got a Steam Deck (OG, 512 GB) and a Switch (OG) for $15 each. No boxes, no cables, no base station for the switch. Both power on. Guess I'll just sell them then.
I hardly ever used any of my member perks other than the games themselves. Will totally welcome a streaming media plan added to the package without (further) raising the price. If Netflix is too much to ask for, Spotify or Crunchyroll will do, too.

Xbox Game Pass at $30 a month is just too expensive. There's no universe where that price makes sense.
I bet a vanishingly small amount of people actually use all the services contained inside it.
Agree with this piece.
@AndyMasley If accurate, that's not bad at all. Trade one farming county for all US AI companies and their global use. And cooling water should be able to easily reused in a closed cycle. It's not like the water gets "uncreated" by data centers.
@tomwarren Definitely if it helps. So far I've seen, though, it's just a dumber version of Copilot and has no idea what's going on in my game. I've got to pause the game and explain to it patiently what my current problem is. Then it throws out hallucinates or irrelevant advice
