This is crazy! This man was rescuing people off of the mountain. He was told by the fire chief that if he went back they would arrest him. He had to leave the man alone on the mountain. Listen! What is going on? Why are they turning help and supplies away? These victims have no water, food, or electricity. WHY?
Since Friday, our aviators and flight crews from the 1-230th Assault Helicopter Battalion have been conducting search and rescues, medical evacuations, and transportation of critical supplies in East Tennessee to those in need. Working closely with Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, our teams have successfully rescued nearly 75 personnel. We are fully committed to supporting our fellow Tennesseans for as long as it takes during this recovery period.
