Urban middle classes are vocal and noisy. They are over-represented in the media. Most of them have probably never been to Balochistan, to small villages outside Multan or Dera Ghazi Khan or to Bannu. North to then means Nathiagali. They have little idea of how the 70% live.

At its core the issue is that Pakistani elites are happy being sharks in small ponds.

They don’t have the hunger to elbow in at the big boys’ table. Bangladeshi & Indian elites do.

Pakistani elites are content with a luxurious life at home with some assets abroad.
