@KelleherMaureen This is interesting to me. All of the resident teachers that @ashlm_12 and I had at Chávez interviewed for positions and 2 were hired. All 6 would have stayed if he had the openings.
I want to make sure my students have exactly what they need to succeed, so I've created a project through DonorsChoose!

@KelleherMaureen Biggest thing for me right now is lack of resources. We have no workbooks, guided reading library, etc. So my prep is completely eaten by copying. Planning, differentiating, grading has to be done after school hours.
The most important facts for you to remember today:
Less than 0.001% of those fully vaccinated have had a fatal breakthrough case.
Less than 0.004% of those fully vaccinated have been hospitalIzed.
The vaccines work.
The vaccines are your best protection from the virus.
"Being able to form lasting bonds across differences has become so valuable" @citizenstewart is chatting with educators @ashlm_12 & @ChavezSinger on how they work together while our divisions deepen. #UnPublic https://t.co/qPiFahLUxk
"We have to be more comfortable with saying we don't know the answer... modeling inquiry and letting students know it's ok to not know, but finding resources to learn." @ChavezSinger to @citizenstewart on how teachers can engage in the tough conversations. https://t.co/qPiFahLUxk
Join @ashlm_12 and I tomorrow as we discuss social justice pedagogy and anti-racist teaching! (Spoiler: CRT is not apart of it🤷♀️) https://t.co/nPELm8Cd57
If I were an educator, I would find this terrifying. The rightwing's 50-yr+ war on public education is being ratcheted up to unprecedented levels and all progressives should make defending public schools and teachers a top priority.
So proud of @4747Chavez 3rd graders for their amazing publishing presentation introducing “Si Se Puede: A Social Justice Magazine” Missed it? Watch here: https://t.co/7tYd3rr5i4
