38 years ago today the Hawke Labor Government handed Uluru back to its traditional owners, the Anangu people.
Thanks to decades of struggles and activism, this special part of Australia is now jointly managed by the local community and Parks Australia - ensuring Traditional Owners can care for the land they have been custodians of for generations.

Skimmed through my PhD lab notebook one last time this week - almost brought me into tears. My lab notebook is like a diary of grad school, recorded all the raw emotions, and also how often my experiments failed. Like, most of the time actually and it was pretty hard lol. 🥲🥲🥲
