💯 | Yesterday evening saw @ChaySmith109 run out for the 100th time in Black & Amber. Having rejoined in the summer, Chay has been a regular in both spells, including the 2018/19 season when he incredibly started all 30 League games.

@jameswhile @dan_hayward87 @markismith50 I get that rugby is a complicated sport already (probably the biggest hurdle of attracting new fans) and positional numbers help with understanding but a new fan will just think that no.88, a prop, played well and is good at X, Y & Z rather than LH or TH.

@jameswhile @dan_hayward87 @markismith50 Without providing facts no. However, every global sport uses squad numbers. NBA, NFL, MLB, F1 & Football. Makes it easier to have discussions about players and creates massive revenue opportunity through branding which can only help grow the sport.

Think squad numbers/names on shirts are perfect for ID to help attract new fans at club level. Keep international level 1-15 w/h names and mirror the football.
