He described a reconstructed Gaza under Palestinian administration, living in peace with Israel, with a real political horizon instead of endless conflict.

He made clear the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza needs both political cover and practical help to actually take control.

-Yemeni sources tell the Guardian that Riyadh is massing forces for a major push, with Saudi troops seen pulling out of eastern Yemen in what could be preparation for a land assault on al-Bayda in the center of the country

-The Saudi defense ministry says 14 states, including Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Sudan and Djibouti, have signed a joint statement backing a multinational maritime coalition, and Riyadh has asked the U.S., Germany, France, the UK and Italy to join a Red Sea force

-The stakes for the kingdom are enormous, since up to 80% of Saudi crude used to sail through Hormuz and more than half now travels overland to Yanbu on the Red Sea, so losing that route too would strangle its exports from both sides

-The Houthis say the blockade lifts when Saudi Arabia lifts its own blockade on Yemen, framing the fight as being about Yemen rather than Iran

-Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman met urgently with Trump and Vance on Wednesday, pressing the message that Riyadh will defend itself but does not want the war with Iran widened

-The talks that could defuse all of it continue, with Iran still insisting every ship enter the strait through a northern lane hugging its coast

A ground offensive in Yemen is the decision Riyadh spent four years avoiding, because the last version of that war ran seven years, killed hundreds of thousands and ended without victory.

What is pushing them toward it now is cold arithmetic rather than appetite: with both sea routes threatened, the kingdom cannot sell its oil, and no amount of air defense fixes a blockade you cannot reach.

Saudi Arabia is trying to walk a line where it fights the proxy without fighting the patron, and Yemen is where that method gets tested.
