POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED FOR VIOLENT ROBBERY.
A rogue police officer is in custody after he was cornered by members of the public in a violent robbery on February 3, 2024.
Police Constable Edgar Opollo was saved from a furious mob by Kisii Central police who were on patrol, after finding the armed suspect under a hail of hefty blows.
On enquiry, the officers established that the suspect had robbed a smart phone from a Kisii University student, and on frisking the injured suspect found the phone. He was arrested and escorted to the station.
Meanwhile, DCI detectives in the area had been pursuing an armed gang of three who on 2nd January, 2024 robbed Sh40,000 from PEPS Mini Supermarket which is situated at Corner Mbaya.
The incident was captured by CCTV cameras showing three robbers who had partly covered their faces, two of whom were armed, one with an AK47 and the other with a pistol. The rifle bearer had police fatigues on, but it was not apparent that he was a police officer.
Following Opollo's arrest, an identification parade was conducted where the supermarket owner successfully identified him as one of the robbers who accosted him.
Further investigations have revealed that the suspect is a General Service Unit officer deployed in Kisii.
He continues recuperating under police guard at a Kisii hospital pending interrogation and arraignment for robbery with violence.
We were profoundly surprised, even shocked on discovering the remarks made by Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) of Minnesota in a recent public forum, widely circulated on most social media platforms and attached below for your reference.
The language she employed was regrettably unbecoming of both the office she holds and the constituents she represents.
Her expressions were lacking in common decency and revealed a significant lack of understanding of basic facts. Specifically troubling, were her endeavors to revive the once-violent and dangerous ideology of Greater Somalia or Somali Weyn, which caused so much death, destruction and conflict in the Horn of Africa.
Furthermore, her use of ethno-racist rhetoric didn't escape attention and left many, with a deep sense of disappointment.
This was particularly bewildering for those who recall similar racist attacks she endured not long ago, of being ”not American enough” and was baffling to see her take a similar approach and accuse the entire #Somaliland nation of “falsely claiming Somali identity.”
Moreover, her ignorance of #US - #Somaliland cooperation in the fight against terror and piracy in the Gulf of Aden & Gulf Of Berbera was shocking to say the least.
We hope the house leadership and her caucus will take note of her public conduct, unbecoming a United States Congresswoman nor representative of the august house she serves in.

Now that the current government cannot be trusted with files of lands in Ardhi house, this is the secret to avoid your land being grabbed or being scammed without common knowledge.
1. Buy land through a bank. Pay the loan in 3-5yrs. This means you won the land as 2 individuals, you and the bank.
Banks go through a very long verifiable process before the can get a green card to establish the genuineness of the land, so it's not easy to get scammed.
2. Once you've completed paying the loan, and now you have your title with you, don't risk having it on your name only as a mere individual. Even if you have money, approach another bank, or the same, with your title, ask them to give you a loan. Again, they'll go through another verifiable process and again you'll own the land with the bank for another 3-5yrs.
3. Build or develop it during this time!
By the time the loan 2 is paid up, that land has a good chronology and history and is easy to defend in court in the case that one comes up with a grabbing agenda!!
Be wise! Be educated! Be alerted!
This is a land grabbing government.
