Obado did not commit that offence.
I don't know about the others. Even the circumstantial evidence(non existent) could not put him in any scene or act.
The court(Judge) imagined he was afraid of publicity and embarrassment and therefore...
Was it possible other family did it..

She was incoherent—logically and legally. She is not a stammerer. Her reasoning was illogical. Whereas I have no special knowledge on the allegations, one cannot argue that Obado’s guilt is linked to him not having agreed to support Sharon and/or to take responsibility for the pregnancy. If these were the indicia for guilt, 98% of all adult Kenyan men who have had romantic relationships with women would be convicted.

By the way, that dubious habit of reading a prepared judgment then arguing that “it’s not ready to be released to parties, especially those convicted of a serious crime of murder, and that the judge requires “more time to refine the judgment” is unacceptable. Don’t read a judgment which is not REFINED. It’s not accountable to later release something materially different from what she read.

We need justice for everyone: the victims and the accused.

I could say more, but will wait for the judgment when it is finally released.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) welcomes the judgment delivered today by the High Court in the murder trial of the late Sharon Otieno, in which former Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Michael Oyamo, and Caspal Obiero were found guilty of her murder.

The Law Society of Kenya has taken a bold and commendable step to call for judicial accountability. Corruption is undoubtedly a major malaise that has slowly eroded trust in our judicial system, and it must be addressed one way or another. However, LSK should lead us to engage in some self-introspection.

1. Can corruption in the judiciary exist without the participation of lawyers?

2. If it is wrong for a judge to obtain orders to stop an inquiry by JSC ? Should LSK publish a list of lawyers who accept instructions to represent the mentioned judges?

3. What about judges who issued the orders; should we not shame them as well?

4. It takes two to tangle; what about lawyers who file cases in Court and bribe judicial officers to get a favorable decision? Shouldn’t we have a list of shame for these lawyers as well?

5. In 1994, 37 prison warders died in a road accident. A Nairobi lawyer, Kamau John Kinyanjui, was paid Kshs. 52 million in compensation for the families but stole the money. LSK didn’t take any action. The trend has continued. How many Kenyans continue to suffer at the hands of rogue lawyers? Why is LSK silent? What is LSK doing to reform the legal profession?

6. There are hundreds of cases pending in the Advocates Disciplinary Tribunal involving theft of client money. Will LSK publish the list of lawyers with pending disciplinary cases and ask members of the public to boycott them? How far is LSK willing to take this conversation ?

If there should be a boycott it should be on the courts which issued ex_parte injunctions not the Judges who filed cases. The right to access Court, however misguided one is, basic and deserves protection. @joshuamalidzo

Mr. President @ckanjama and Le President @NelsonHavi if we are boycotting judges who stopped the JSC investigate their JurisPESA enterprises, why are we also not boycotting the judges who issued ex parte injunctions stopping @jsckenya from undertaking its constitutional mandate?
