Has Shabana Mahmood lost her mind?

This week, she is set to announce a ‘Homes for Ukraine’-style migrant scheme for conflicts all around the world.

For context, that scheme took in over 200,000 Ukrainians.

This must not stand.

What nations do Labour have in mind?

Sudan. You know who is Sudanese? Deng Majek, the illegal migrant who murdered Rhiannon Whyte - stabbing her 23 times with a screwdriver.

And Mohamed Harun, a refugee who raped a woman and told the judge sentencing him “fuck England”. In fact, over a third of Sudanese criminals in prison here have committed sex offences.

Mahmood also wants to prioritise Eritrea.

We’ve had rapists and attempted murderers from Eritrea these past few years. Eritreans here are more than 20 times more likely to account for sexual offence convictions than British citizens.

No doubt Labour will open the floodgates to thousands of Palestinians too.

Labour say they’ll cap the number of people in the scheme at the tens of thousands. But, over time, they’ll all bring in their extended families. The ‘chain migration’ will be catastrophic.

It's all modelled on a Canadian scheme that's let 400,000 migrants in, and nearly 100,000 in the last five years alone. In fact, the Canadian Government have paused their scheme because it’s so unpopular.

Labour have no mandate whatsoever for this. If Burnham wants one, he must call a general election.

The British people have made it abundantly clear: we don’t want anymore migration like this.

When it comes to so-called ‘asylum seekers’ from nations very different to our own, we are long past full.

A Reform government will reverse this ridiculous scheme.

Or, better yet, the whole thing should be cancelled now.

Alex Soros took full control of the family operation in 2023. George handed him the chairmanship of the Open Society Foundations, their main vehicle, plus control of the family’s super PAC, Democracy PAC. Alex has openly said he’s “more political” than his father and has ramped up domestic political spending, including over $100 million this cycle.

Their family business is hedge fund investing. George Soros built the fortune through Soros Fund Management, especially his Quantum Fund, by betting big on currencies and markets, most famously making about a billion dollars in one day shorting the British pound in 1992. They don’t make or sell any product. The money comes from trading and investment profits. That fortune now funds the foundations and their political giving. That’s the core of it.

By the late 1960s, after years working as an analyst and trader at firms like F.M. Mayer and Wertheim & Co., he had built up about $250,000 of his own money. That’s what he put into launching his first hedge fund, Double Eagle, in 1969, along with $4 million from outside investors.
He didn’t inherit it, borrow it, or get it from anywhere else. It was money he earned and saved over roughly 10–12 years in finance after arriving in New York in 1956.

The $4 million for the Double Eagle Fund came mostly from European clients of the investment bank Arnhold and S. Bleichroeder, where Soros worked. The firm itself helped set it up as an offshore fund, and its chairman, Henry Arnhold, had a close role, he had previously seeded Soros’s earlier First Eagle Fund with family money. Specific outside investors were never disclosed.
