A body was found on Horn Island, Mississippi, and the search for a missing 18-year-old has been called off.

The search for 18-year-old Nolan Wells has been called off "after a body was located Monday morning on the northwest end of Horn Island."

Officials have not confirmed the identity of the individual found.

Officials have been conducting a search for Nolan Xavier Wells, 18, since he went missing around 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 4.
According to reporting from the Clarion Ledger, part of the USA TODAY Network, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office directed a search over land and water July 5 and 6 after the teen went missing. People have been searching the barrier island on foot, as well as using planes and boats.
