@mercy_received @In2Nft I was selling around $30k recently and when going to sell, the actual amount I would’ve received on https://t.co/g8LCgJvVnJ was like $28k! Because the sell price was thousands under the spot price of btc! Coinbase sells it at spot and just charges a flat fee.

YOU get to keep your $CKB AND earn returns on it. Presumably you would charge more than the DAO’s rate. And if the application fails your $CKB could simply be returned.

Applications will need to be built for these sort of agreements or contracts to exist of course.

Why you don’t need to take profits on $CKB

The network solves state bloat by requiring applications to lock up $CKB as 1 $CKB equals 1 byte of data on the network. As price inflates the cost for enough bytes for an application to start up may be too drastic.

It’s beneficial for the network because the application gets to exist! Instead of being discouraged away due to high start up cost. This will help innovation as all application ideas could exist vs only application ideas with lots of money.
