@swagonometrl My girl rescue cat took YEARS to finally be comfortable enough with me to pet her and even more YEARS for her to sit on my lap. You have to be patient.
@JezziiB I'm 37, finally got my big girl job 2 years ago after working my ass off for 20 years in mostly service work and earning a BS degree. Everything has finally caught up to me, including the death of my mom a couple years ago, and now I'm on an emergency medical leave from work..
@didem5654 Me and my fiance haven't gotten married yet because of health insurance (we're in the US). If we get married he'll get kicked off of the State health insurance he's on and won't have the medical coverage he needs. It's pretty frustrating, but that's the reality of our situation.
@TormentedSapien It's not expensive anymore though. You can get a portable AC unit fairly cheap these days (I found one for free on FB marketplace) and they use some electricity, sure, but not like what you're making it out to be. Everything costs money, I promise having one is worth it.
@LunarPledge In my hometown it never was necessary to have an AC during the summer- it never got hot enough long enough to warrant having one. But that was thirty years ago and these days it can be over 100F for a month or longer and an AC is necessary. We have to adapt to a warming world.
@FloydMark77896 If there's no birth control and you're not trying to have kids, don't do it. Hell, I'd even say if you're not cool with paying child support or having an abortion don't do it. But kids, don't forget precum. That'll knock you up too lol. Bottom line - use protection!
@NamraVl It's sad that stories like this are so common, no matter where you're from. You should have gotten help and received care and been shown empathy. I'm so so sorry this happened to you. I hope you can find peace now.
@Jayinvgenius@peachtard When my dad died I had to fly to Tennessee from Oregon to deal with his estate. He had so much crap I reached out to an estate sale company to hopefully help but they declined to take the sale because he basically wasn't rich enough AND because his house was too hard to park at
@simonsarris The entire point is dude, even with having roommates my entire adult life (I'm 38) I've never been in an economically safe place to save in any capacity. I just don't make enough money, compared to prices always increasing but wages staying the same, to get ahead.
@doqholliday People are so selfish in these replies. Like why did y'all even have kids to begin with? You think parenting is done when they turn 18 and move out? No, it's a lifelong commitment and if you love your child you should help them in any way you can to make their lives better.
@OrianaNichelle My HS job was working at a Regal as an usher. Mostly cleaning theaters and bathrooms, but I also did theater checks aka walk down the isle with my orange flashlight and it was honestly so much fun getting paid to tell jerks to shut up or I will kick them out ๐
@TheEXECUTlONER_ This is just one example showing people aren't taught how to drive anymore. No one told them how to merge, use blinkers, accelerate/de- accelerate, just fucking goooooo already lol
