Last night, I saw a bike rider sitting quietly on a footpath, staring at his phone with his head down. His eyes looked heavy… not drunk, not sleepy. Broken.

I stopped and tried to help him financially. He refused twice.

He said, “I’m just waiting for rides.”

That hit hard.

In Pakistan today, even hardworking people who refuse to beg are quietly collapsing under inflation and hopelessness.

Every day I stop for long protocol convoys on my way to office. Last night, all I could think about was that rider’s face.

A country is not judged by the power of its elite, but by the condition of the people still trying to survive with dignity.
