@SecWar Wish I could be there to see the look on your face when god sends you to hell. Remember that school you bombed in Iran? The one that resulted in the deaths of a bunch of little girls?
@ThatDudeWeHate@sapocururu6924@KingOfLeyndell Know I sorta repeated myself but still. What I mean is the linearity of 3 makes it best for learning the combat. With how linear it is, new players won't just stumble into a high level area, get stomped on, get mad, then quit. The linearity creates a good difficulty curve to learn
@ThatDudeWeHate@sapocururu6924@KingOfLeyndell Agreed DS1 has easier mechanics, but its maze map and no fast travel mean newbies get lost fast and sometimes soft locked. DS3’s linear as fuck layout stops you from stumbling into high level areas, making it better for learning combat without constant frustration
@Norhkuna@TheOrdinaryFile@KingOfLeyndell I agree technically yes sure that’s how it is with most franchises. Usually best to start with 1. But 3 was designed the way it was for a reason by miyazaki as a good game to introduce people to the series
@Norhkuna@TheOrdinaryFile@KingOfLeyndell Why does it matter? Not like you can’t do that in reverse from 3. Play 3, decide you like it, then go back play 1/2 and by doing so see how much the games evolved. All that matters really is someone try’s the games out and becomes a fan. Doesn’t matter what they start with.
@sapocururu6924@KingOfLeyndell In 3 the combat is the most refined and responsive in the series, with clearer telegraphs and less jank than DS1/2. QoL is better (fast travel from the start, tighter pacing), so new players actually learn the systems instead of bouncing off early frustration.
@ThatDudeWeHate@sapocururu6924@KingOfLeyndell To a degree sure. DS1 combat is slower, but navigation with no early fast travel and zero guidance is hard for new players. DS3 gives clear directions, by how linear the game is. Almost impossible to get lost or stumble into an area you aren’t supposed to really be in yet.
@TheOrdinaryFile@KingOfLeyndell Miyazaki repeatedly stated during pre-launch interviews that Dark Souls 3 was built as a standalone experience from a gameplay perspective. And how new players do not need prior knowledge of Dark Souls 1 or 2 to understand the core mechanics, controls, or combat pacing.
@sapocururu6924@KingOfLeyndell Cause it’s fun and arguably the easiest for beginners in the series? Not like you can’t do what you said in reverse, play d3 see the world and such, then go to d1 and see how it use to look. Last time I checked, there are still lore to read and learn in 3 as well
