@emf_11 @michelleplummer@tcpkansascity Thanks for commenting! Yes, we understand. Currently, Cali, CA and several others have chosen to be proactive. We're just wondering which gyms so far.
@CheerUpdates has posted a comprehensive, cheer community survey regarding attitudes towards ending the 2019/20 season. We highly encourage you all to participate and provide detailed answers.

@CheerTheory In two separate polls, NCPA received well over 3k votes. Over 57% of participants in 1st poll voted to end. Over 65% in 2nd poll support ending.
@IAmBethMott 2) Nearly 100% of our members are current #cheerparents We also allow "retired" cheer parents (such as those who have decades in, but no current athlete), but there are few. We have not yet formed a formal BOD, but count numerous longtime cheer parents as members & advisors.
@IAmBethMott Hi! 1) NCPA positions are our own. In this case, advocating ending season for safety reasons primarily, as well as to prevent additional multiple (highly likely) reschedules / delays from affecting #cheerparents already going through a hard time. Call it and move on.
Following recommendations of the CDC, we are not proceeding as planned with scheduled events for the next eight weeks. We are actively exploring all options, including rescheduling events, extending the competition season, and hosting virtual competitions. https://t.co/zjkXrPn4Et
@VarsitySpirit @Alicia84317630 Thank you. Will there be special consideration for international competitions such as Sea to Sky or Jamfest England? Parents need more advance notice due to the cost/difficulty of travel.
@Alicia84317630 @VarsitySpirit Appreciate your reply! This public health event requires help and sacrifices from everyone to minimize the potential effects. No one is excited about it, for sure.
Take the official NCPA Poll! Should #cheer competitions be suspended/cancelled in support of #COVID19 public #health initiatives? Or should we go with business as usual?
If there were EVER a doubt that a powerful, well-organized, and well-funded #cheerparents organization were needed for our #sport, this puts that to bed.
Join us TODAY and let's stop the madness!
Props @CHEERMaDs for breaking this!
