@ProgDirectorate bro yeah don’t get me wrong Florida is an amazing place with beautiful nature, nice weather for snow haters and great culture but please get me the fuck out of here I hate being car dependent I hate my state government and my state government hates me
Lazy journalism to try putting @AngieNixon in a box or affixing her with a label.
The media wrote Florida off. Now they want to pretend expertise and make Angie fit their narrative.
Angie is a force of nature. That’s why we know she’s going to defeat Ashley Moody in November.
@LeftyWinter I don't think she's cynically taking these positions either, as she was using the G word in November of 2023, which I'm taking as good faith. If she's socialist curious and these end up being growing pains, more power to her.
@LeftyWinter On one hand, I agree in that a socialist organization should have socialists. On the other hand, she has a lot of alignment on policy with socialists and I don't think the label matters too much. If she thinks not being a socialist is a path to victory, then I trust her.
I have become a number 1 Angie Nixon defender, until she actually throws DSA under the bus. I trust my Florida comrades who are supporting her & hope folks are able to continue to build their relationship with her and her campaign regardless of whether she is formally endorsed.
@leftylucy1989 I will ride or die for Nixon. If she thinks she can win by dodging the label, go ahead. If she thinks she can win by embracing the label, go ahead. She is aligned with socialists on policy, we can argue about labels later.
Nikki Fried barely won her Ag Commissioner race in 2018 and got demolished in the 2022 gubernatorial primary. If she wants to tell Nixon how to run her campaign, the smartest thing Nixon can do is ignore her.
(Axios) “Stop gaslighting me!”: Florida Democrats’ US Senate nominee and party chair have heated call over socialism
Florida's new Democratic Senate nominee, Angie Nixon, and the state party's chair had a heated conversation Friday which included a yelling match about the impact of socialism and the challenges of campaigning in a red state like Florida.
According to two people who spoke with Nixon, both she and Fried yelled at each other over the course of the call.

I love how Twitter will have ppl with usernames like "FruitBytheFootjob69" and their analysis of geopolitics contains a level of understanding that Atlantic staff writers have nightmares about.
