In the 70s, there was a trend of romantic folklore/british/country-style fashion in Japan mirroring the prairie dress trend in the West. One brand in this fad was named Lewis Carroll. The Dictionary of Gothic & Lolita mentioned them as an inspiration for classic lolita brands now
