When we consider this through a food security lens: 2.9 million tonnes of edible food goes to waste on farms every year, which equates to around 6.9 million meals.
We're dismayed that @DefraGovUK has backtracked on plans for mandatory #foodwaste measurement.
After a decade of failing to act voluntarily, most UK food companies are still keeping their food waste hidden from public view, preventing the critical action we need.
