@MIREXRD@itobisono@EmbajadaUSAenRD Terrible. The Dominican Republic is an island nation, our ecosystems are sensitive. This maneuver just highlights the desperate position the United States is in with its conflict in Iran, and trade conflicts with China + globally. It's obvious our insecure access to materials.
@Streetfilms Not against IBX. But there needs to be more serious conversations about what expanding to the Bronx will look like in the future. It feels weird that the Bronx seems to be purposely excluded, to restrict cross borough travel from the Bronx into the other boroughs.
Following the fallout and intimidation at Leimret Park, happy to announced I'm taking on the following Strava Challenge: Somos Mรกs: Floreciendo juntos. With Hispanic Heritage Month approaching I will celebrate growth, community, & connection by running.

@LosGnuoy309 I try to encourage my fellow Latinos to register for as many dual citizenships and passports they are eligible for. It's very common to meet millennial and Zoomer Latinos who are eligible for a second or third citizenship, but are too indifferent to register with the embassy.
Just noticed this achievement on Strava, signed up for the free movie ticket. Why not. I feel like I haven't noticed a no strings attached freebie like this since Red Bull mailed out sample cans at the start of the year. Hope I see more Strava challenges like this.
@LaCienegaBlvdss This is like a Hispanic/Latino term divide. The 3 Latino nations can use Caribbean only to describe themselves. While everyone else can use Caribbean and West Indian. The term West Indian as an identifying marker comes from the colonial structures of the ๐ฌ๐ง ๐ณ๐ฑ West India Company.
OkโฆCan someone please tell me, kindly. WHY THE FUCK ARE EYES AND TEETH NOT PART OF HEALTH INSURANCE. Are they not part of our body? Part of our health? I know teeth can sure as fuck kill you if they go untreated.
@w0rmpr3y@TW1NKD3STR0YER Yes, I am well aware that high propensity transplant voters outvoted the low propensity voting local community. That's the express strategy of DSA to remove Latino elected officials. But the local non-transplant community (top right corner) voted against DAC, not just Dominicans.
@bilalfarooqui Typically when a health organization sponsors a sports organization, it includes some arrangement that allows for exclusive access to the athletes by doctors. The doctors get to treat high athletic players, and collect data for study and training.
Cousin in rural western Pennsylvania told me there is a Bosnian immigrant in his 30s who came out of nowhere and opened 4 Hookah/sandwich shops all within a 20 mile radius and has become a prominent figure in the community.
@LATACO With people worried about AI negatively affecting the job market, one area of work that will likely go unhindered is food preparation and services. People can make the effort to build boutique local brands.
I'm happy the takeaway is people moving away from this "joke" as corny, and it always struck me as oddly racist. Dominicans have the right to our identity, and the dignity that it accompanies. We don't owe an apology for not existing in the frame of caricature from resort visits.
@PatMannUSA This criticism rings hollow. Yes, the economy that is sanctioned to the point of global exclusion isn't going to develop at the same rate as its neighbors. It's our sanctions, we are the ones restricting others from interacting with them. Same goes for Cuba, Venezuela, and etc.
With discussions about juries all across the news right now, I just want to take a moment to encourage people to participate in jury duty. It's like voting, if you don't participate, the process continues without you, and those others make decisions for you. It's a civic duty.
