They wanted to be free but your ancestors wanted free labor so if they caught them learning, resting, eating, or drinking water after working all day or thinking about being free they hung them.

@DougWahl1 Yes he does for being overly aggressive . If the bathroom was empty when they went in there what’s wrong with taking his girls in there. I’m sure he’s there to make sure that they don’t touch anything gross, and to make sure they wash their hands afterwards.
