I think the answer is no because the object is just a method/tool. I do not think the crucifix is God, it just represents the final sacrifice for human sin.

This is a artistic expression of the experience of depression and finding Jesus Christ. I struggle with with self loathing because I dislike my learning disability, which is basically hating myself. Jesus Christ prevented me from ending my life.

another step, the thorns I see resting on his bloody head.
A brow more bruised than I'll ever be, a familiar to suffering.

The final step, he wraps his arm, a stranger he is meant to be no more.
I wake within the forest’s heart and I weep upon the greenery.
