There were a total of 80 individuals, given the Order of Canada.

And again, Don Cherry did not receive it.

Despite being one of the most recognized names & personalities in Canadian history.

An icon in our national sport!

To not give him this, is a disgrace & shows how this has been politicized.

I’d love for anyone to try to argue the merits of giving this to Theresa Tam over Don Cherry.

A Conservative government would right this wrong.

We repeat land acknowledgements at meetings/events but how many were actually written with the Indigenous Nations they acknowledge? From what I’ve seen in politics, none. I asked Katzie Nation directly & they hadn’t been consulted in my community. Who are we really doing this for

Land acknowledgements are part of reconciliation. They show respect and encourage us to ask ourselves, ‘what’s the history of where I am. How did it get developed, who has lived here since time immemorial? What can we do to reconcile with that history?’
