Looking for feedback around SEMH assessment tools. Used to measure progress for small groups of pupils who will access our adapted provision. Have looked into Motional and Boxall #nurture#SEMH#nurtureuk#SEND#SENDCO
Looking forward to tomorrow's Annual DT Update at Plymouth Guildhall...really excited for our keynote address from the amazing @jazampawfarr. Places still available, so do please come along.
Using PACE helps adults to slow down their reactions, stay calm and tune into what the child is experiencing in the moment. It helps gain a better understanding of what the child is feeling & allows us to stay emotionally regulated and guide the child through heightened emotions.
🎄EduAdvent Day 11🎄
It’s Day 11 of #eduadvent!

To enter, give @benglishteach and me a follow, like and retweet this tweet & the winner will be chosen around 6pm!
Beautiful Plymouth picture by Emily from our Rough Sleeper team this morning, after a night shift for severe weather provision.
Good to work with partners to ensure indoor space for people when it's this cold.
A child in our nurture provision today stopped talking mid flow. Put his hands on my face, looked at me and said
‘Oh, you so pretty’
We then all carried on with the game ❤️🥰 #buildingrelationships#nurture#teacherhighlights
@WhistleblowingT If he has a 1:1 any way try looking at the changing the provison that isn’t working. Possibly a low stimulus environment, individual learning space? You could invite a small number of peers to join him when he’s able to manage that. Now and next approach to support routine? X
4 things to say instead of giving unsolicited advice:
- “how can I support you?”
- “do you want me to just listen?”
- “how did that feel for you?”
- “I can’t imagine how difficult that is”
I’m still relatively new to Twitter and am made up to have over 1K followers this week. To celebrate I’m giving away one copy of my book for any RTs, I’ll pick the lucky someone on Friday. Perfect to help see the wood for the trees! @Headteacherchat
