Another Premier League season in the books ✅️
After a terrible season with Potter, sitting in mid-table most of last season, & dropping into the UECL it feels good to be moving forwards and have something to look forward to.
@CFCTicketsHQ Only got Leeds (league) in the ballot, easy to get Leeds (cup) too which was nice. I prefer it to the old system where the website would just glitch then say it's sold out
Big result for Alonso. Not just because we never win at Everton, but that first half was Chelsea from the past few seasons - dragged into a scarp, yellow cards for stupid stuff & could have got a red. He calmed it down at HT & we fully deserved the win.
The last few seasons have just been a reoccurring nightmare. Another season bumbling around mid-table losing to any team that is more up for it than we are.
Bad - District Line, the first half
Good - Everything and everyone after 50 mins
Glad to catch someone giving the away end the finger at 3-2. Proper night.
@Brightonian_ People that don't know who he is will assume you're praising Chelsea fans for calling out a Chelsea creator - so making it clear. Not an attack on you or your tweet
Last season teams either passed for the sake of passing and went nowhere- was so boring. Or, they had a long throw. We conceded our fair share.
Refreshing to see teams going forwards quickly in the first few weeks.
Neither here nor there on Welbeck but very funny to see Brighton fans losing their minds about it. The most one-way rivalry out there.
We sign their players every summer. They beat us at least once per season. Everyone wins. Repeat.
Who cares?
Good luck to him.
Worth remembering certain Chelsea content creators wanted us to build around players like him and Alfie Gilchrist when they have their next meltdown about us letting an academy player go.
Tariq Lamptey has joined QPR on a free transfer after leaving Fiorentina.✍️
🗣️ Lamptey: “I'm hardworking, I like to get up and down, a lot of energy, a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll keep the fans on the edge of their seats. I'm tough tackling, I love one-v-ones, defensive and attacking, I just love playing the game.”
@SonOfChelsea Looks like a fake shirt you'd pick up on holiday before fakes turned into almost exact replicas of the real thing.
That said, it does look quite nice
We were still poor when we missed out on Europe a few seasons back, next season could be the same so it is no positive.
The money Europe gets us is an irrelevance. We were meant to get loads of money from the Club World Cup - doesn't feel like that translated into good signings
Forget all the rubbish about the fact it will do Alonso good blah, blah. 10th place and no Europe is a terrible season for Chelsea. Lots of work to be done this summer.
The annual end of season round-up.
Another poor season really. Was glad to get to the Champions League games as they're rare at Stamford Bridge these days.
Picked up quite a few tickets on the exchange too because so many people gave up - sums it up really.
We'll be back....
Don't mind this appointment but not sure why it's being made into such a big/significant one.
Alonso is very inexperienced. Couple of good seasons and still young. Just becuase he played at a high level doesn't mean he'll be a top manager. We'll see how it goes.
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Xabi Alonso as Manager of the Men’s Team.
The Spaniard will begin his role on July 1, 2026, having agreed a four-year contract at Stamford Bridge.
Welcome to Chelsea, Xabi!
