@impishchimp@orntwo Its easy to show a decreasing poverty line when the way they calculate poverty hasnt changed in 50 years. The way the poverty line is calculated causes the line to be set so low that barely anyone qualifies. How can you expect it to be accurate when its not calculated accurately
@alexwinters88@NoCatsNoMasters@ask_aubry Literally the only time a pregnancy is terminated after 6 months is when it's necessary to save the mother.
After 6 months, the pregnancy was absolutely wanted. Zero women are going 6 months pregnant & say, nah I don't want this baby anymore.
@VincentJCurtis1@Conortmccartne1@BrentToderian The roads weren't destroyed. They are literally still there.
Commerce is still there.
You know what's not there?
Cars. That's it.
You act like commerce and roads never existed before cars.
I think it's weird that we say neurotypical or neurodivergent.
Maybe we're not supposed to be neurologically the same, but society caters to one type of neuro function. And by solely catering to that single Neuro function, it makes everyone else's life harder.
@Cynical_Waffles@Ranpage198@kurohitsuki@JohannasGarden@mzqueeb@ask_aubry Really it's just that first paragraph that is WTF.
He's trying to make the point that men are always able to impregnate women, but women can have sex as much as she wants with as many men, and only have 1 pregnancy in 9 months.
But that 1st paragraph is 😵💫
@LiorSteinberg My husband and I were waiting for the bus with our kids and we saw a woman with 4 kids on a standard bike. The rack above the back tire was extended a bit, with 2 kids, 1 on the front rack, and one in front of her.
And all kids were fastened into proper seats with belts.
@alhidalgo63 Maybe we should consider voting for people closer to the median age of the country.
Of course, that would put most of our politicians out of a job
@thekunprojekt @Meowigold@butchanarchy Thank you as well.
I get the point you're trying to make, tbh.
I just think there has to be a line between what is and isn't manipulative. Our actions are ALWAYS going to affect other ppl, but that doesn't mean all actions are manipulative.
@thekunprojekt @Meowigold@butchanarchy 1st of all if you said you were a people pleaser then I didn't see it.
So what you're saying is you're only nice to people to get them to do what you want them to do?
Are you sure you're not love bombing or manipulatively giving?
@thekunprojekt Can you explain how it is? This happens to be a very well researched topic. Just because you're not versed in the topic doesn't mean my knowledge of it is "puritanical outrage".
@thekunprojekt @Meowigold@butchanarchy You mean how I phrased things using appropriate terms and used easy to understand analogies?
Why do you want people pleasers to be manipulators so badly?
Is it so you don't feel guilty for using them?
@thekunprojekt @Meowigold@butchanarchy It doesn't matter who the person is, the people pleaser always go into every interaction thinking "what can I do to protect myself".
Manipulative giving goes into the situation "what can this person do for me". The giving is a way to get the person to please themselves.
@thekunprojekt @Meowigold@butchanarchy It's no different than someone who grew up starving hoarding food. You can tell them they don't need to hoard food anymore, but starving as a child rewired their brain. The situation/person changes, but the brain is now wired that way.
@Meowigold @thekunprojekt @butchanarchy people pleasing is controlling your behavior in order to survive a situation. Survival isnt manipulative. the person causing that behavior that's manipulative. Manipulating someone to please themselves.
It's "what can I do to protect myself" vs "what can you do for me"
