If you are in Texas, the safest nearby state to go to is likely going to be Colorado and New Mexico.

If you are a parent with a trans kid and are looking to escape these issues from ever popping up again in your life, any state in dark green is best.

Greg Abbot has officially directed Family and Protective Services to begin investigating all trans children in Texas and prosecuting their parents as child abusers.

He has also instructed all teachers, doctors, and caregivers to begin reporting any trans students they see.

@wweek I haven't made my mind up about this group. In some ways I understand where they are coming from but I also have genuine concerns.

Though I'm *much* more concerned about the people who read "stop having kids" and think it says "forcibly sterilize people" or "kill humans."

I just love audiobooks so much when it comes to stories by authors from cultures/languages/ethnicities different than my own. I love hearing the names and accents properly. The narrator of book No. 1 was so wonderful to listen to! ❤️

The simplest explanation for this is that the high-profile murder of civilians by police traumatizes and destabilizes communities, which leads to increases in crime. Police violence periodically generates crime in communities.
