u needed to be broke, so you could learn how to budget. u needed to be treated bad, so u could appreciate being treated great. u needed to have jobs u hated, so that u can work hard to do what u love. u had to stray from God, so u could understand that’s there’s nothing better

Someone went to community college & made the NBA
Someone played JV as a junior and made the NFL
Someone started getting recruited after their senior season & became a pro
Someone didn’t start their senior year, & made it big
The path to success is different for everyone
“Winning isn’t the point. Wanting to win is the point.
Not giving up is the point. Never letting up is the point. Never being satisfied with what you’ve done is the point.
The game is never over. The secret of the game is in doing your best. To persist & endure.”
— Pat Summitt
Just because you’ve been a starter for three years doesn’t mean your position is safe. It’s your coach’s job to play the best player, no matter their age. Therefore, never get complacent. Keep working hard as if you’re neck and neck with someone trying to take your position.
If you're not willing to give solid effort during practice, why even show up? Going through the motions won’t help you improve. The purpose of practice is to improve, not just to show up and say you did it!
Something I still don’t understand, is how do people expect different outcomes/results without change? If you want something bad enough you should be uncomfortable, investing in yourself, and doing things you haven’t done before to create that difference. Nothing is a hand out.
Anyone who plays at a high level of their sport knows how physical the game is. The best players are the ones in the best shape. Everyone at the top is skilled/strong. Give yourself that advantage. Work on your body as well as your skills. Strength & conditioning helps separate!
What are you doing during this offseason to help yourself & your teammates? The right kind of work this offseason is how you separate yourself, but it must be consistent. Anyone can work hard for a week; some will work for a month. Very few work the entire off season!
