Today is International Dot Day and the 20th Anniversary of Peter Reynold’s “The Dot”. Students made a mark and saw it took them into augmented reality through an app that made their dot 3D. A fun way to celebrate the day! @UGLPrincipal @daniel_novak_WM

It’s March! That means it’s Youth Art Month! The WM Library is hosting a sampling of artwork in the upstairs gallery and hallway outside the Children’s section. More K-12 artwork will be on display at the All District Arts Festival at the end of this month. (3/29)!

5th grade artists are focusing on Value for this patriotic project. Students learn value, in art terms, is the range from dark to light of a color (the sky graduation). But we also discuss the value of our freedom and the honor that Veterans deserve. 🇺🇸

Dot Day! CLIMB classes did a printmaking lesson that created a dot mono print. Students used water based markers to create lines and mixtures of color on a gelli plate. Students transferred (printed) the image with a damp piece of paper and applying a little pressure.

I met some new CLIMB friends today! We did two different activities based on the book “The Dot”. We used dot paint markers as well as egg crayons and jumbo oil pastels with watercolor paint to create individual dots that combined together for a colorful art installation. 🟠🎨

Happy [belated] Mother’s Day! CLIMB and @Patiro_UGL classes used origami folding to create these personalized flower bouquets. 💐
