This is a remarkable verse about what God requires of those who are His.
“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
The Bible will challenge, correct, and even rebuke us.
· The Bible challenges us, as Paul does in his letter to the Ephesians, to walk worthy of our calling.
· The Bible also corrects us, as Paul did when he asked the church in Galatia how they could be so foolish as to go back to the law when they were set free by the Holy Spirit of truth.
· And the Bible also rebukes when Jesus tells the church in Laodicea to repent of its lukewarmness before judgment arrives.
And this is what this verse before us does. It does all three. It does triple duty.
“To do” is an act. It’s not something we merely think about or talk about; it is something we are to do. To do justly means doing what is morally right or fair. This is not merely something we talk about; it goes beyond words. It is committing to do what is morally right and fair in every circumstance, even when it is not popular.
This verse is also a call to an active faith lived out in what we do, namely, living humbly and in connection with God and others. Again, it is in what we do, not just in what we say. It is a faith that is active and alive.
And finally, it is to love God as God has loved us, and then to love others in the same way. It’s known as the Great Commandment. You see, all three of these qualities hold together as one through our love for God and for one another.
The Lord requires us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God, because we represent Him to a world that is lost and dying. It is through this that people will see God working in and through us, which may stir their desire to know more and to come into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
May the mercy and grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you this day. Thank you for posting. Take care and God bless.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Ephesians 6:12
If there’s one verse I repeated to my children more than any other as they were growing up, it was this one. Whenever they faced a hard choice or a conflict with someone else, they knew what Dad was going to say: “No matter what anyone else does, do what’s right!” I prayed those words would become part of who they were, because they weren’t merely my words—they came from the heart of God in this beautiful passage of Scripture.
@Ashleyhays2089 I completely understand, I preached to a person yesterday.. he wrote me off, believes we need a “living master” to teach us. I tried to explain and there were times he froze.. hopefully with the grace of God he thinks about what I said and wakes up
“Thus says the LORD, who gives the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar— the LORD of hosts is His name.”
~Jeremiah 31:35🕊
Please heed the warning about the times that we are living in.
Jesus Christ is God in the flesh and He died to pay out debt and save us from hell.
Whoever believes in Him and puts their faith in the finished work is forgiven- it’s that simple.
Don’t let your pride keep you from spending eternity with God.
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
-Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)

A Scripture and a Prayer: “God’s Got Me Covered”
“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:2-5)
Prayer:
Truly, Lord, what more can we add to what You have said? Help us remember all the benefits You have given and all the sins and wrongs You have forgiven. Help us also remember all that You have done for us, including the health and ministry You have so graciously extended. I love Your continuous care for us, as You cover us under the shadow of Your wings and are our refuge and fortress in times of trouble. So we need not worry about the enemy’s attacks by night or by day, because You have promised that Your angels will watch over us and keep us in all our ways. AMEN
